Take a look, it’s in a book…or in this case, it’s about a book. As an avid reader who is more likely to update my Goodreads account than my Facebook, I couldn’t resist sharing some of my favorite illustrations, collages and photographs depicting my favorite pastime for this week’s inspiration post.
I am pretty much obsessed with the blog ForgottenBookmarks.com, where a used bookstore employee chronicles all of the unusual, funny and personal things that get left behind in those books. This has inspired me to find bookmarks that are perfect for holding your spot…or simply admiring!
How perfect would these next bookmarks be for that ghost tale or murder mystery you’ve been reading?
As part of a dying breed of those who still take books out from the library, I felt it necessary to include this ‘bookmark for library borrowers,’ which is part of a collection by Red Monkey Press. There is a space included to remind you what day each book is due back, which is handy for people like me (and the artist) who have a tendency to forget about those due dates.
There is absolutely nothing I don’t love, love, love about this ‘Jacket+Bookmark’ project by Igor Udushlivy. He has created an illustrated jacket cover for each novel with an amazing matching bookmark, which tie into the theme of each story. Simply put, I’ll take one of each. You can check out the entire collection on his site.

Thank you so much for featuring my photograph here!
