Top 5 Favorite Holiday Movies & Some Festive Artwork Too!

We are officially in the holiday homestretch! With only 10 days ’til Christmas it’s almost time to check off everyone on your list, breath a sigh of relief, sit back and enjoy some yuletide movie magic. So, I thought I’d share a list of my all time favorites along with some fun cards and prints I found inspire by each of the films. Enjoy!

5. Elf

I have one friend who, through the entire holiday season, answers their cell phone with “Buddy the elf, what’s you’re favorite color?” Point being, you can’t help but LOVE Buddy. There are so many elements that made this movie a Christmas classic and I think the print below illustrates that perfectly!

4. Home Alone + Home Alone 2

Yes, I know that this is technically two movies but they are both so amazing I couldn’t mention one without the other! Now, go get out your copies of ‘Angels with Filthy Souls’ and make a giant ice cream sundae to celebrate completing all of that gift-giving and party-hosting.

3. It’s a Wonderful Life

Last year, I went to see the ultimate Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life on the big screen and it was worth every penny! I still tear up at the end when the whole town comes to George’s aid and embraces the true Christmas spirit. To impress friends and family members even more this year, check out 6 things you probably didn’t know about It’s a Wonderful Life.

2. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

At some point during the holiday season, we can all relate to this movie. Whether it is the relatives who show up unannounced or the neighbors with one million strands of lights. I can personally relate because my dad still makes the entire family climb the side of a mountain in upstate New York and hunt for the perfect tree to cut down ourselves. Yep, we do that.

1. A Christmas Story

Could there be any other options for the first place spot? Not in my family, where we not only have a miniature replica of the leg lamp but we own the official A Christmas Story board game. It is as amazing as it sounds. Also amazing? This print by Matt Owen:
