Art Crank Minneapolis by Allan Peters

Happy Monday everyone! I thought I’d kick off the week with a look at some amazing posters by graphic designer Allan Peters. His portfolio is full of fantastic typography and a client list including Target and Nike. My favorite is the above print, which was created for Art Crank Minneapolis – a poster show for people who love biking! You can check out more of his work on his Behance page.

A Look at Love

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

February came upon us quickly! With February 14th only a few heartbeats away, I decided to take a look at some artwork inspired by love and Valentine’s Day.

What else says Valentine’s day (quite literally) like candy conversation hearts? I love how these candies make for a bright and colorful subject to photograph.

This Week on Pinterest…

Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

For those of you who don’t yet have a Pinterest account, it is a place for people to “pin” what interests them from all over the web. We’ve fallen completely in love!

Over the course of the week, I have been collecting some of my favorite pins from this highly addicting bookmarking site, which I think is a great resource for finding all kinds of decorating inspirations, party planning tips and artwork. Check them out below and follow pingg on Pinterest here!

Movie Time!

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

NYC woke up to cloudy skies and a downpour of rain this morning. We haven’t seen much snow here yet, and I think that we may be finally getting a touch of the winter weather. On rainy days, what’s beats unwinding with some movies? I was inspired to look at some artwork that reminds me of going to the movie theater.

This photograph of this East Texas movie theater simply says nostalgia.

Artists Who Inspire: Virginia Kraljevic

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

I came across Virginia Kraljevic’s pen and ink work today, and couldn’t help but be drawn (pun intended) to these intricate pieces.

With a little ink, paper, and some imagination, there’s much to be dreamt up and created.

The smooth, flowing lines of this piece seem to make your eyes continue to circle around the design.

New Year’s Eve Inspiration

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

It’s almost time to start the countdown to 2012. To get us all excited for the upcoming year, I decided to take a look at some photographs of things that remind me of New Year’s Eve.

What’s more traditional than starting off the new year with a little toast with champagne or a delicious sparkling drink?

Top 5 Favorite Holiday Movies & Some Festive Artwork Too!

Friday, December 16th, 2011

We are officially in the holiday homestretch! With only 10 days ’til Christmas it’s almost time to check off everyone on your list, breath a sigh of relief, sit back and enjoy some yuletide movie magic. So, I thought I’d share a list of my all time favorites along with some fun cards and prints I found inspire by each of the films. Enjoy!

5. Elf

I have one friend who, through the entire holiday season, answers their cell phone with “Buddy the elf, what’s you’re favorite color?” Point being, you can’t help but LOVE Buddy. There are so many elements that made this movie a Christmas classic and I think the print below illustrates that perfectly!

Traditional Treats

Monday, December 12th, 2011

The holidays are here and the air is getting colder. It’s the perfect time to get cozy and warm up with some hot chocolate and holiday sweets! In the spirit of the season, I decided to take a look at some artwork that features some iconic treats.

What’s a more iconic winter drink than hot chocolate? On a cold day, few things shake the cold off like a mug of cocoa! I love the addition of a candy cane as a flavorful stirrer in this photograph.
