Organizing and hosting a surprise party can be stressful but it’s all worth it when the guest of honor is finally in on the secret! Alexa of the pingg team recently hosted a surprise party for her mother and it went perfectly as planned! Read on to hear from Alexa about her recent experience and feel free to share your stories about your favorite surprise parties!
“Even though I work for pingg, I have never actually planned any kind of party myself. Sending people a Facebook message to come to your apartment is a little different than planning a full on event. Two months ago, I decided to be ambitious with my first attempt at throwing a party and I decided to host a surprise party for my mom’s birthday. I am not exaggerating when I say it went one thousand times better than expected.
This is a beautiful sentiment from one friend to another. We only knew Jody Sherman through his company ecomom.com. But the story shared here paints the picture of a human who loved life and tried to make it better for those around him. He seemed to find that balance between fighting for his own dreams while also helping others fight for their own.
This served, for me, as a powerful reminder to slow down. Too often we get locked in heads down mode, running as fast as we can towards our goals. Poke your head up and take stock. Appreciate those around you. Ask how you might help others achieve what they want in life. Find that balance between striving for future success and being present to enjoy the adventure with the friends who are exploring with you.
Thank you Mark Suster for sharing.

It seems too often that we disconnect from face to face time with friends and even disconnect from our personal creative outlets. Whether we find it faster and more efficient to connect with others online, find ourselves “too busy” to get creative, or we get caught up in the small obstacles that may come up along the way, there’s countless reasons why we forget to spend real time with those who inspire us and put our inspiration to creative use. Take a few moments to watch these two great inspirational videos that will hopefully inspire you to spend some time with friends and loved ones and even tackle a new creative project this weekend!
