New Features!

pingg Dashboard

pingg Dashboard

We’re happy to announce that pingg put a number of shiny new features into service yesterday morning!  In no particular order:

Cards & Announcements:  You like us…. you really like us…. which is why many of you have suggested that we expand our invitation features to include cards and announcements.  And we were more than happy to do so.  So in addition to creating events on pingg, now you can use all of pingg’s features to send cards where no RSVPs are necessary, like save-the-dates, announcements (”we’ve moved,” “it’s a girl,” “gallery opening,” etc…), holiday greetings, thank you notes and more via email, print (pingg will print, stamp and mail the cards for you), SMS or even post your card to your social network.  You can also create a webpage around your card and post videos and pictures. So get creative…and send a card, any card.

The Dashboard:  Due to overwhelming demand, we’ve replaced the “my events” tab with a sleek, new “dashboard” tab.  Whereas before, you could only view the invitations that you had either sent or created, now you can also see all the cards you have received from your friends or family, which allows you to keep track of events you have thrown as well as attended. So if you are a registered user, check out your new dashboard…it still has that new car kinda smell.

Email Personalization:  Since we are all about your ability to customize your own invitation or card, now you can personalize the subject line and greeting that’s included in every pingg email invitation.  When you send invitations or cards, look for a new -personalize- button on the sending confirmation page.

Event and Card Copying:  The most tedious part of sending invitations is assembling the guest list.  Even though we make it as easy as possible, it’s still something that takes time.  So we’ve introduced an easy way to create a new invitation or card with the guest list from a past invite.  This new feature can be found in the dashboard.  Each of your events and cards has a new -copy- link, which creates a new event using the list from the one you’re copying.  This isn’t a full fledged repeating event feature, that’s something that we’re still working on.  But it is a great way to create an invitation using a the recipient list from a save the date, or to create a thank you card using the list from a past invitation.

Fixing Delivery Problems: Despite our best efforts working with large email hosts like Yahoo and Hotmail, sometimes pingg invitations get caught by nasty spam or junk mail filters.   But we’ve introduced a simple way to get this issue sorted out.  Once an invitation or card has been sent, a new link will appear below the guest list offering assistance with delivery issues.

There are a bunch more small enhancements and fixes that smooth out some of our rough edges, but aren’t big enough to toot our own horn about. Enjoy!
