Spring has hit full swing and summer is not too far away. The temperature is getting hotter, baseball season is hitting its stride and tailgating season is underway. For years I have become aware of the importance of a quality tailgate before a game. It isn’t always necessary to attend the game/concert that you are tailgating for. Half the time the tailgate is the best part! In hopes of making everyone’s tailgating season even better, I’m going to list my five key tips to the perfect tailgate.
1. A Good Cook
The most essential person at a tailgate is the cook. Without a large supply of burgers, dogs and sausage, a tailgate wouldn’t be nearly as fun. Don’t forget to bring plenty of beer as well. Hungry tailgaters will lead to lots of cranky people. Which brings me to…
2. A Positive Attitude
You cannot enjoy a tailgate with a negative attitude. Regardless of the way your favorite team is playing right now it is important that you keep a positive attitude, so that you don’t bring anyone else down with you. Don’t be a negative Nancy!
3. Games, Games, Games
Make sure to have a plethora of games to keep everyone entertained. It doesn’t hurt to have an old favorite such as cornhole and ladder golf. But, if you can’t get a hold of one of these games don’t be afraid to make up one of your own.
4. Proper Game Attire
Represent your team with pride! Wear a jersey of your favorite player or hat with the team logo and easily meet friends who are on your side.
5. Good Friends
I saved the most important key tip to the perfect tailgate for last. It is essential at a tailgate that you are in good company. You can always have a good time at a tailgate if you are with great friends.
