A Bridal Shower Mother Earth Could Be Proud Of

This year, I will be walking down the aisle — as a bridesmaid that is!  But, before the big day comes, there’s the fun of hosting an amazing bridal shower.

Environmentally conscience weddings are becoming more and more popular and this bride was no exception. While the official bridal party color is purple, this soiree was undoubtedly green. As a bridesmaid, it was my duty to make sure her shower followed the eco-chic theme.

When deciding on location it was really no contest. What better way to express her love of all things green than to host the party outside? We decided to forgo paper items all together starting with sending online invites instead of traditional ones.

On top of that, while many find unwrapped presents a sin to gift-giving, we had just as much fun guessing who gave which gift while eliminating garbage bags filled with wrapping paper. We also made sure that the party favors were eco-friendly and handed out personalized bookmarks printed on recycled paper.

At the end of the day the bride couldn’t have been happier and by eliminating so many disposable products, we ended up helping the environment and staying within budget…not bad! For those of you ready to host your own shower, just a few easy steps will help you to go green as well.
