A Fabulous Fairy-Tale Theme Wedding

If there’s any day in your life you’re guaranteed to feel like a princess, it’s your wedding day! So why not take that feeling and make it into the theme of your entire celebration?
When your wedding has a fairy-tale theme, guests will be transported back to the days when chivalry reigned. Start the event off right by choosing an invitation that sets an appropriate tone — either by its design of a castle or a princess and prince, or with its fanciful wording.
How do you carry the theme throughout your wedding? Create a courtly atmosphere by calling the groom your “knight in shining armor” (even if he’s wearing a tuxedo), the bridesmaids your “ladies in waiting” and the groomsmen your handsome “men at arms.”
Create a coat of arms (or research to see if your family has an actual coat of arms) and make banners emblazoned with it to hang at your reception. Decorations could also include white tulle and twinkling lights with guests waving ribbon wands as you leave the ceremony and make your get-away in a horse-drawn carriage.
Ask a theatrical friend of a local actor to be your herald to announce the events during your reception. Hire jugglers to entertain children and guests after the meal. You may even ask guests to dress in Renaissance-style clothing for an authentic and fun atmosphere.
And don’t forget to wear a tiara so you look the part of “princess for a day!”
