Most of us can’t imagine surviving barefoot, especially here in New York City. But yesterday, TOMS Shoes sponsored their annual Day Without Shoes. The company asked people to go barefoot to raise awareness for the millions of children who live without many of the things we take for granted. In an effort to bring attention to the impact a simple pair of shoes can have, celebrities, musicians, students and pingg joined together and walked barefoot for the day.

Supporting a charity and raising awareness is easy at pingg. We’re proud to offer our hosts the ability to attach a charitable registry to their events. Choose up to six different charities or nonprofits out of the hundreds supported by ChangethePresent.org. Help fund projects such as building playgrounds, supporting cancer research or even donating a goat to a small village. No matter what you’re passionate about, giving back is easy.

We’ve certainly been inspired by TOMS Shoes and hope you are too. The next time you plan an event, add your own charitable registry. You don’t have to be a super hero (or a large corporation) to make a difference.
