Understanding your body type is the first step towards choosing the perfect dress and enhancing your frame’s best assets. The ultimate goal: to create vertical lines that are slimming and flattering, and to give the illusion of a balanced figure for all. Of course, our expert stylists are still here to answer all of your fit questions and to help make your experience with RTR flawless and fabulous (read on to hear from stylists of each body type).
The first step to dressing for your body type is determining which body type you are. We will talk about 7 different body types (keep in mind that you may be a combination). Make sure to click on the body type descriptions below for more detailed information about each one.
Pear: You are fuller at the hips than the bust and have narrow shoulders. Click here >>
Apple: You are narrowest just above the natural waist (which is typically the smallest part of your midsection near your belly button) and tend to carry your weight in your midsection. Click here >>
Hourglass: You are curvaceous with a full bust, a defined waist, and full hips; your bust and hip measurements are similar. Click here >>
Straight & Narrow: Your bust and hip measurements are similar and you have little definition in the waist. Click here >>
Full Bust: Your bust measurement is fuller than your hip measurement. Click here >>
