PINGG INTRODUCES EVENT STREAM, AGGREGATING TWEETS, COMMENTS, PHOTOS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AROUND EVENTS

Premier Online Invitation and Event Planning Company Reveals Twitter-Enabled Conversation Stream and Other Updates

NEW YORK, NY—October 8, 2009—pingg , the first online invitation and event planning company to focus on aesthetics and design, today introduced the pingg Event Stream, which allows Hosts to aggregate Twitter conversations related to their event alongside other comments, photos, videos and activities on the custom pingg Event Web Page created for the event. The improved event reporting enabled by pingg’s Event Stream, along with pingg’s integrated print feature and extensive gallery of designs, positions pingg as the leader in the dynamic market for online invitations.

pingg Event StreamSome of the most popular themes and occasions for which pingg customers plan gatherings are publicly discussed events, such the Oscars® and the Super Bowl®. As these events typically have a built-in Twitter hashtag, Hosts can simply opt to include the hashtag and the Event Stream will display relevant Tweets employing the hashtag on their Event Web Page. Hosts and Guests can also participate in the discussion on the site as well.

Even more unique, pingg now prompts Hosts to select their own custom hashtag when creating an event. This term is then included in the invitation, notifying guests that Tweets including this term will appear on the Event Web Page. Whether for professional events such as tech meetups, gallery openings or trade conferences, or for personal events such as birthday parties and holiday soirees, the custom hashtag allows Hosts to aggregate a more focused stream of Tweets related specifically to their event.

Other activities that appear in the Event Stream for all guests to see include:

  • Changes to the event details (i.e. time, location)
  • Other Guest RSVPs
  • Public comments posted
  • Photos posted
  • Videos posted
  • Guests forwarding the invitation to others (public events only)

“At pingg, our goal is and always has been to improve upon the online invitation and event management market with a focus on aesthetics, design and great features,” said pingg CEO and co-founder, Lorien Gabel. “Our customers frequently tell us that they find our online event reporting capabilities so helpful, even an addictive way to monitor and track responses, and we are pleased to announce these enhancements, which enable even more interactivity and dynamic discussion between Hosts and Guests while still allowing Hosts the option of a printed card when the occasion calls for it.”
