Jennifer Orkin Lewis, aka AugustWren, is inspired when surrounded by color, pattern and light. She grew up in New York and from a young age was drawing the people and objects surrounding her; eventually going off to Rhode Island School of Design, becoming a textile design major. Like many art school grads she came back to NYC upon graduation, lived in cold water loft with her friends and took low wage jobs in design studios. For many years she created print designs for lingerie, sportswear and children's textiles, and became a stylist for a fabric company.
