Jennifer Daniels had wanted to do something with art as long as she could remember; from the beginning days in kindergarten finger painting through early high school when she learned about graphic design. She was immediately hooked on typography, imagery, spray mount, cutting boards, xacto knives and all things well laid out.
more »Studying in the Communication Design program at Syracuse University allowed Jennifer to explore creatively and prepare herself for the working world of designers. Not only was she now equipped with real world problem-solving through design, but she was also ready to take on any snowstorm. Four years of seven-month long winters were enough for her, and so Jennifer decided to make her design start in New York City.
The majority of her professional background comes from being a designer in small boutique design studios as well as one high-end cookie company where Jennifer served as the art director. The former allowed her to really wear a lot of hats and get her hands wet with every aspect of the design business. The latter gave her the in-house design experience as well as a distinguishing taste for dessert.
Jennifer has worked with clients in the beauty, spa, educational, liquor, arts, athletic, healthcare, retail, and hospitality industries. Though her day-to-day is filled with graphic design on the Mac, she still believes in old-fashioned drawing and sketching and tries to impart these practices into her work as much as possible. She ideally starts every project with a pad of graph paper and a black rollerball pen.
