Lori McDonough has been doodling ever since she was a little girl. Always drawn to the playful things in life, inspiration for this illustrator comes easily while blending motherhood with her creative life.
She lives in Carmel, Indiana with her husband, three fantastic kids and one loveable mutt named Kismet. To charge her creative spark, Lori enjoys flea markets, photography, crafting of all kinds and letterboxing.
Lori earned a degree in Visual Communication Design from Purdue University, where it became clear that drawing was her passion. It’s the simple joys in everyday life, which she enjoys making the subject of her illustrations. Hand lettering has become her latest design crush. Bold colors, inspiring words and whimsical images are common threads in the tapestry of her work.
Lori’s first children’s picture book, Getting to the Heart of Complimenting was published in 2009 and she is busy at work on the second in that series, Getting to the Heart of Respect.
