MIKA+AIJA design firm was launched in 2009, and is comprised of East Coast-West Coast design team Mika Mingasson and Aija Marie. 

Los Angeles-based graphic designer Mika Mingasson and NYC area artist Aija Marie Ozols Gibson join together to create unique and visually pleasing products for businesses & retail. 

Born in Japan and raised in Hawaii, Mika brings her bright Hawaiian colors, soft island shapes, and aesthetically pleasing compositions to the duo. A print and graphic design professional for the past 20 years, Mika’s focus is clean and simple style, and keeping the message clear. Her Pacific Rim influence runs strong through her work, and she loves incorporating  simple lifestyles into her designs.

Raised by Latvian and Dutch parents, fine-artist Aija Marie responds to Mika’s crisp, clean style because of her Northern European and Scandinavian upbringing.  Aija Marie uses her hand-drawing and painting skills to bring images and ideas to life, and is particularly fond of Asian brush strokes.  Her traditional fine-art education along with Mika’s finely-tuned design skills make their designs appeal to a wide audience. 

Together, the result is MIKA+AIJA. A partnership of crisp, clean, simple, unique, hand-drawn design projects.
