Trolleyla is a 2nd generation native Angeleno. “Trolley” is her nickname (it’s a long story!) and “LA” is a nod to her native Los Angeles, with which she has a long-standing love/hate relationship (mostly love.)
more »Trolley has studied all genres of the arts— fine art at UCLA, photography at Art Center School of Design, and fashion design at FIDM, Los Angeles. After designing for several clothing companies, she launched her own line created from upcycled vintage t-shirts. After years of thrift store shopping she had grown to love the fabulous retro graphics and almost infinite variety of artwork displayed on vintage era tees, but she definitely did not want to wear a oversized men’s shirt! Her whimsical collection was sold in stores and boutiques internationally, including Urban Outfitters, Bloomingdales, Ship’s in Japan, to name but a few. All along, she continued with painting, drawing and photography, soon adding photoshop to her toolbox. After phasing out her clothing line, Trolley decided to devote her time to fine arts, combining her love for all things vintage with her other artistic pursuits. She is thrilled to showcase her vintage fashion ad-based illustrations on pingg.
In her spare time she visits the beach with her family, spoils her Chihuahua, eats Thai food, grows tomatoes, and frequents the many museums and galleries in Los Angeles.
