tsai-fi (pronounced sci-fi) launched her collection of twisted but adorably, cute artwork five years ago as a creative outlet. She graduated from a design school in New York City and has had extensive experience designing and illustrating for the toy, fashion and gift industries, yet she hungered for a way to showcase her own flow of original, artistic ideas. tsai-fi’s passion for design and her sassy sense of humor is apparent in all of her charmingly playful artwork.
more »This jack-of-all-trades designer currently resides in Los Angeles, California. She uses many medias to create her artwork such as painting, drawing, sculpting, digital rendering, silver-smithing and sewing. She has had her work displayed in galleries, exhibitions, shows, art publications, online, newspapers and magazines. She has also collaborated with other artists and with Urban Outfitters on a limited edition t-shirt collection.
She is inspired by her daydreams and her own world of make believe. The world of tsai-fi was created to be an escape from everyday life so her love of fantasy movies is a huge influence for her art. The other two major inspiration areas include popular Asian culture and her everyday life experiences.
