tumbalina’s mission — Touching hearts one by one — goes back to tiny Masaka, in Uganda, where founder and award-winning designer Oak Atkinson spent her childhood. With no gift shops in her town, Oak started designing and making cards as little girl. After graduating from Colgate University, earning an MBA at Fordham, and spending many years in the corporate marketing world, she returned to her old passionate pastime and started tumbalina in 2003. tumbalina is in the business of making people smile and is located in Bedford, NY.
