Featured speaker Elena Coupal is a recent graduate of UC San Diego with a B.S. in Biochemistry/Chemistry and a minor in Literature/Writing. She is a member of the American Tarantula Society and has been collecting tarantulas and learning about them for three years. She loves being a part of "the addiction" (as the hobby is frequently called), and hopes to eradicate the many myths surrounding the much maligned tarantula.
