"How to Draw a Crowd: My Life and a Cast of Thousands", an exhibition of face portraits by California artist Jeffrey Morrison, is on exhibit at West Sound Academy's Frodel Gallery during the month of February, 2013. Morrison creates unique drawings of the faces of people he encounters. Morrison's interest in portraiture began during his long career as a grocery cashier at a store on the California coast.
  
  "Determined to master some form of expression that would represent my experience of the world, I began drawing portraits. For 20 years I worked in a grocery store on California Highway One, a place visited by people from all over the world and from all walks of life. The potential inherent in every encounter with every human being is the air that I breathe; but rather than draw a portrait of each and every customer, I chose a parallel in my private life, the world of culture and history.
  
We live in an epoch crowded with celebrities, names and faces. I want to honor those I find interesting and undeniable in their effect on humanity, for good or bad."
