Over the past 8-weeks, 20 junior level engineering students from Hughes STEM High School have been engaged in an intensive Architecture and Design studio that will culminate on Monday, May 21st at 1pm.
Throughout the 8 weeks, students have participated in critical thinking activities that have stretched their minds and forced them to think outside the box in order to develop creative and innovative solutions to various problems.
Students were then placed into 4 teams and asked to design an Urban Garden Pavilion for the Hughes High School urban garden located on the south side of the school.
With help from some intense brainstorming sessions, immersive exercises, insightful field trips, site analysis, as well as the assistance of Graduate Architecture students from the University of Cincinnati and local architects from FRCH, SHP, and ATA Beilharz, the students are working towards successfully completing their designs.
As is customary at the end of any design studio, we will be having a formal presentation on Monday, May 21st at Hughes High School from 1pm-3pm.
We are asking anyone interested in being a guest critic on this date to please RSVP as soon as possible.
Thank you very much and we hope to see you at what will surely be an exciting and insightful afternoon.
