An evening with Stephen Johnson at his studio/gallery in Pacifica - Stephen Johnson is a photographer, designer and teacher. He is widely known for his communication skills and passion as a photographic educator. Canon named him one of their Explorers of Light in 2006, a 2003 inductee into the Photoshop Hall of Fame, in 1999 Folio Magazine declared the publication of Johnson's digital photographs in Life Magazine to be one of the Top 15 Critical Events in magazine publishing in the twentieth century.

Common problems make for common grief. In this lecture Stephen Johnson addresses many of the problems that come up for people, often with the user not even knowing what is going wrong. These issues are covered with a clarity and in a context so that their purpose and problem causing potential is understood and able to be applied to a photographer's workflow immediately.

2. shoot RAW and preserve bit depth
3. set jpg to low contrast on camera
4. use histogram, expose to the right

6. customize RAW presets

How to find us: Stephen Johnson's Photography Studio and Gallery is located at the rear of the Sanchez Art Center complex 1220 Linda Mar Blvd. about 1 mile in from Highway One. Parking is directly opposite his studio and all along the west parking lots as you enter. It's located at the very back of the Art Center.

He has taught photography at college level since 1979, run numerous workshops and has an ongoing photography, publishing and consulting business. He has lectured for MacWorld, Image World, PhotoEast, PhotoWest, PhotoPlus, Fotofusion, at the Maine Photo Workshops, the Santa Fe Workshops, University of California and at Stanford University.
