We’re hosting a summer music/arts festival benefiting Kids for Kids, which helps destitute families in remote rural villages in the Darfur region of Sudan. The event will feature 6 live bands: Action Painters, Earl Greyhound, Wordspit, Samuel Izdat (singer from Takka Takka), Jodie Manross and Katie Mullins. AND we will have some of the city’s best street artists and graffiti artists, affiliated with Artists 4 Israel, doing some sick live art exhibitions (e.g., body art on semi-nude models, customized converse shoe tagging – details). A high-profile human rights expert will briefly explain the situation in Darfur, and we'll have a raffle with great prizes.
The cost is $20 in advance; $35 at the door. Complimentary specialty beer 7-8PM. Bar tenders will serve up cocktails from Milk & Honey's full drink menu all night. Please RSVP AND purchase tickets on this site (to the right, where it says "Contribute"). This will be in an intimate space and WILL sell out!

Even more details!:
Kids for Kids: They take a smart, integrated and community-based approach to providing aid. For instance, they lend goats to families for 2 years. The families keep the offspring and return the goat, so it can be given to another family. The children rely on the milk for protein and vitamins, and the family can sell the offspring when necessary. Kids for Kids trains a village committee in animal husbandry, and it trains a "paravet" in each village to treat sick goats. Additionally, they build water pumps, train midwives and provide malaria nets. They focus on children, as they are most vulnerable. Kids for Kids has 1 permanent employee and helps 200,000 villagers. They are the only organization helping these villages because other organizations either left or were expelled by President Bashir. See
