At the dinner we will also be celebrating the life of oven builder Alan Scott who passed away recently in his native Australia. Alan's contributions to the brick oven baking community around the world are immeasurable. Quill Chase, a former apprentice and assistant to Alan, supervised and managed the rebuild. We incorporated the improvements that Alan had devised in the years since he originally built the oven at Headlands Center for the Arts in 1991. Alan will be missed dearly. A memorial will be held for him on March 7th.
